Hey guys!
Very nice forum i found here, with good topics! keep up the goodwork!
I own a cabrio jimny with g13bb engine and i didn`t found anywhere the compression rate for this engine,i intend to install a small turbo, without intercooler:) does anyone have specs for this engine?
Thanks!

Thank you very much! After i`ve done some calculations i got 9:1 ratio, should be good for 10psi boost without changing rods and pistons.

If its not a stupid question..... why do you want to turbo a jimny?
Also are you turboing it off the exhaust or electricly? ( probably be easier to use a supercharger setup Id imagine ? )
Just curious

Won't that push the pressure up to 340 psi? I would have thought that was a bit much with everything just standard, but I'm certainly no expert.
I do recall that people used to use much thicker head gaskets with turbo'd engines to limit the compression pressure.
If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

I want to turbocharge it because i need extra power to drive 31" wheels, body is heavier now with front, rear steel bumper and exterior rollcage and winch.
It`s easy to install a turbo,i have plenty of space under the bonnet, the only tricky thing will be the exhaust manifold, and maybe the stand-alone ecu if needed.I`ll keep you posted with pictures as soon as i will start turboing, right now they are working on the exterior rollcage:)
Regarding the pressure, will see in tests how much boost can it handle, and if not, forjed pistons and rods:D
