I am thinking of doing this, and had a thought, can anyone tell me if you can fit the soft top high level brake light to a hard top? If you can, does anyone know if this could be used as the fog light, with the appropriate wiring and bulb of course?

Saves having an after market fog lamp stuck on!

I think it will be too high for the construction and use regs but I think there are a few MOT testers on here, so perhaps they could offer some clarity???

That was my thoughts, found this in the mean time...

www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/1989/1796/schedule/11/made

Most notably it says it must be at a max height of 1000mm, anybody with a soft top able to measure what height theirs is at? Guessing it is more than 1m, but wondering if it might be possible to turn it upside down and have it hanging off the bottom of the spare wheel?!?

Cheers

Yes the soft top brake light would be way over 1mtr. Mine is 1.4mtr to the bottom of the lens (with about 100mm of lift)
