grinded of bearing to allow me to pull of retainer and save it.
retainer off and naked halk shaft
this is where the new seal will sit.

sounds a realy good idea but i dont have use of a lathe so would have to try find some pipe the right size

this is where the seal will sit on the backing plate
peice made up to take new seal and its welded onto the backing plate
backing plate with new seal into it.

yea i got my mate to make it up for me and weld it on. you would have to get someone to lathe it up
maybe if some started to make alot of these they could just sell them and you would just have to weld it on or they could make up a plate that just has to be bolted on with the existing backing plates bolts
a kit could contain a seal the peice to bolt or weld on. just a idea to someone who have the time and gear to make a bit on extra money.

very intersting, but the new seal will be not grease, so it will be destroyed quick ???
