 guys, at the risk of being provocative, why this great turmoil with panhard rods?
The thing only displaces 1/4 of an inch during the first 3" of it's arc from horizontal.and even after 9" of arc it still only displaces 1".
With a 3" lift therefore the vehicle is only about 1/4" out of line at rest, hardly a problem especially if you
slightly lengthen the drag link to centre the steering wheel and all is fine. Off road distortions don't really have any great effect in my experience.
By altering the panhard rod pivot point, by extending the mounting, the steering geometry is thrown all to bits with suspension movement.
The only correct method is for the panhard rods to be horizontal at rest BUT having altered the pivot point to achieve this, the drag link pivot point MUST be altered too so that the drag link is horizontal at rest too!!!
All of this can be easily illustrated by taking a 36" piece of wood, approx. the length of the panhard rod, put a nail through one end and pivot it, it is obvious then how much it displaces.
I have a three inch lift, the panhard rods are standard and honestly I just don't have any probs!
I don't know, sometimes we see probs. when there aren't any.
All the best out there, Bryan D.

I would agree mathematically but it would seem that the trigonometry and maths don't add up quite in practive given the clear axle offset that results from a lift. Before I played with the Panhard Rods the tyres on one side cleary stuck out more than the other and its certainly more than 1/4 inch. This was despite the panhard rod being almost horizontal. Where's Pythagorus when you need him?

my adjustable rods needed adjusting about 1/4 of an inch if that, thought it was a bit "is that it" once i fitted them!
Done now though and can only help, although feels no different im sure its better off all straight.

sorry but still think that if its much more than 1/4 inch with a three inch lift then something is bent somewhere.

 We wont get much off-roading done at Tong, we'll be in the Car Park checking each others Panhard's out :woohoo:
I made my own version some years ago ( not the same shape as the Red one ) but same idea out of stuff laying around in the shed.
