aye great little bit of kit a CB !
go to birtly CB services (google them) for about £65 quid you can get nice little TTI unit 40ch with ariel etc. as yours is a tin top you could just go for the magnetic pad and stick ariel on roof when in use like taxis do
I've mounted CB under ciggy tray. remove ciggy tray and throw it at next doors cat. bend / cut a bit metal to make a bracket that slides into fag tray and secure to that, pics of mine
dead easy to wire up
hope this helps

Dont worry bout bracket mate, thats spot on.
With an aerial for the roof, would you just diconnect the wire to aerial when not in use as i wouldnt want it lying around lol. may change to a fixed on like yours later as id prefer to wire it in permanant and hidden wires etc.
I was going to go to birtley CB mate as you said but a friend said he had a Midland one he'd never used, 100 channel? says it was around 100 quid when he bought it and i can get it off him pretty cheap so see what its like! If no good i'll head to birtley.
thanks again gaz.
