There's clearly fixing holes for an under bonnet soundproofing sheet on our Jimny Gen 4.

It was the same on our VW Up GTi. l fitted the part and it did make a small difference to noise levels inside the vehicle.

Is this part available for the Jimny?

One of these?

I'd considered getting one, but can't help thinking that retaining more heat inside the engine bay is a bad idea?

The engine noise is hardly loud and invasive even higher up the rev range, it's not like an old 200tdi diesel rattling it's guts out.

One of the last 200ish of the gen3s, probably.

I would imagine most of the noise you can hear inside the cab is coming through the bulkhead from the engine and floor from the transmission. The bonnet one might make it quieter to pedestrians ?

I have to add that my experience of the bonnet sound proofing on its own will not make a great deal of difference except look nice and stop the paint getting dirty or flaking off with heat. We all love the Jimny for its utilitarian looks and robust engineering, however Suzuki didn't bother with any soundproofing on this car except for a micro thin hard wearing carpet. I have had 4 GEN3's and a GEN4, they are perfectly ok on short commutes however on long journeys on a motorway with the engine at full chat they can become very noisy. I think some members have gone the whole hog and put soundproofing tiles all over the floor and sides?
