I am still thinking what qualifies the Jimny as a commercial vehicle and assume that they will pitch it as a Car Derived Van (CDV), to satisfy this the following will apply
All up weight - 2 tonnes
No rear seats, mountings or [rear] seatbelts
No side windows in the rear or opaque and not able to open.
In the UK a CDV is classed as a light commerical vehicle and comes under the same rules (including speed limits) as a car. I guess the license you need is easier and tax and insurance will be less on a CDV than another type.
All of the pictures I have seen of the Jimny commercial didn't have opaque windows in the rear, I still wonder if this will change?
The other alternative is that it will be a 'Dual Purpose Vehicle' but doubt then that it will qualify to be removed from the list of vehicles for emissions.

I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask you to cite your source for the above information because as I linked earlier in this thread the government website clearly states that cdv is subject to the same speed limits as cars.

I thought that was what I wrote,
'In the UK a CDV is classed as a light commerical vehicle and comes under the same rules (including speed limits) as a car.'

Copied from the link.
Car derived vans are the only light commercial (goods) vehicles which are subject to the same speed limits as a car.

Sorry didn't see your posts on page 3.
It is a dual purpose vehicle as it is 2 or 4 wheel drive, not a CDV (or can they be the same thing?). I am still unsure about the rear windows, if there are rear seats (the other definition of a dual-purpose vehicle) it has to have rear windows, but if there are no rear seats, but is 4x4 it is not stated.
