New Gen Jimny Tyre size was created by chmnda
Hi there,
Does anyone know what's the max tyre size the new gen Jimny can go?
without lifting and still sticking with the stock rim which come with the car.
Everyone is saying 215/75r15 but that does not do much to the lift of the car, it is just a slightly wider tyre.
Anyone mind helping here?
Thanks!!

The problem seems to be that even though the arches look oversized there isn't an awful lot of room before the tyres start rubbing. There's also the gearing to consider too.

I don't have a gen4 so can only go off what is being reported here but it certainly seems that way without a lift.

215/75R15 is the biggest that the stock rims will take. A couple of people in Australia have fitted 235/75R15, but those exceed the recommended limits of the rims so probably not legal or insurable in the UK.
If you want more clearance then new rims and a lift is the way to go, but then you start getting into the realms of needing to alter gearing to match.

I´m still waiting for my Jimny but already bought a 235/75-15 BFG tires. Gonna install them on the standard aluminium wheels. Did talk to some guys at the tire store who said they had already used that tires on few Jimny´s and it did not rub anywhere. I´m not sure I believe them but anyway, Im gonna start by installing a 1 inch spring spacers and might do some little bit of cutting from the inside of the bumper.
If that is not enough then I'm gonna use a new ( used ) Jimny steel wheels with the original tires until I have done some proper modifications.
