Just a quick update on the drivers side seat belt alarm. I left it last time with the seat heater not working. All resolved now.
I took the seat out for a good rummage around. Disconnect the 4 pin white and the yellow SRS plugs. Torx 40 for the four seat bolts and pop the seat out.
Always be careful with airbag wiring, just think of the system as an unexploded bomb
and your on the right track. Pic1 shows the thumb slider on the SRS connector. Pic2 is the seat belt alarm plug to pull, pic3 is the end result.

Err. Won't that invalidate your warranty and any insurance claims you might make? The srs system is there for a good reason.

Sorry Lambert for vague and incomplete description. The SRS plug ( and adjacent 4pin white plug) are reconnected when you put the seat back in. Airbags all work as they should. The seat belt reminder is classed as a convenience feature and a known free for all to disable. Hope this clarifies things a bit.

New regulation here in Norway this year on the MOT is to test these safety features. Also new now is an alarm for the rear seat on new cars from next year. I have no idea yet if these are Norwegian rules or if we got them from the EU. Here the MOT is called "EU check up".
We are not a member but still most rules apply. Outside we do not have a vote though..

Crikey, I can't wait to post "Auto off - collision warning". Let's see what reaction that gets.

Ok. Its just it read like you were disconnecting the srs permanently.
