On my Range Rover there is a sequence to turn this off/on. It involves plugging and unplugging the seat belt 9 times rapidly within 10 seconds.
This disables the seat belt alert, specifically where you carry items on the front passenger seat.
I do not have the Gen4 manuals but I would assume it has a similar facility

This one's for you Andy, pull this 4 pin plug and no more seatbelt warning on the driver's side (which I think is what you were after). Trouble is no more heated seat either, four wires two for seat heater two for belt alarm. I will investigate further in the future (seat out) but for now this is good enough.
