Gen 4 reversing camera was created by SmallBlue
Hello I’ve seen a reversing camera online, can anyone that has fitted a camera tell me if the head unit accepts the red and yellow plugs. Or is it a special fitment? And does the unit and camera detect you are in reverse via the canbus wiring? Thanks

Thanks for your reply , is the camera you fitted the official Suzuki one (as it seems awfully overpriced) or an aftermarket one. And have you any photos of the install location. Also how does the surround come off the stereo? Thanks

It is the genuine Suzuki camera. If you look under the rear bumper above the number plate, there is a hole blanked off between the number plate lights, that is where it fits. Head unit removal is simple, remove the trim underneath (between vents and screen), it just pulls off, you'll feel the joint on the bottom edge with your finger nails. Once that is off it will reveal two screws, remove them and just pull the head unit towards you, it is clipped in so will need slight persuasion to get it going. The only tool needed is a cross-head screwdriver.

Another question Soeley if I may , the original camera does it just wire into the head unit or do you have to wire into the reverse lights as well. I’m really struggling to justify buying the original as it’s way way over priced. I’m looking to buy a similar size camera and an extra loom that has the all impo green plug that goes into the head unit. My Vw t5 has canbus wiring and that picks up when vehicle is put into reverse so no need for a wire to reverse lights.

Yes, it just plugs into the head unit. I guess the reversing light connection is already built in.
