Jimny won't turn over!
I'll try that... Four years ago my mate who has since returned to England had a Renault laguna estate it was old 1995, but worked fine until the starter motor broke down, he took it along to a local bulgarian garage where they set about putting in a new one. They did the job fine it started thereafter... Only thing was, a chassis member was blocking the starter access so they cut the chassis and removed about 250mm of it to gain access, they didn't bother to weld it back. There are many horror stories here, from stolen parts ie good brake systems taken off and replaced by rubbish.
This is why I bought a car in England and drove over here, I can't trust the mechanics here, I will do as much work myself even though I'm a novice.

Mine did it last night, was very low on fuel. stopped, turned engine and lights off and took trailer off and parked it up. back into the Jim turned ignition but nothing, starter not turning. I bump started it and drove a mile back home, reversed into drive switched off and tried to re-start, but no go. fuel guage (mine works well and is generally accurate)was right at the bottom of the red. Came home tonight with a jerry can of fuel and tried to start it, still the same, not turning over, put the fuel in and tried again and it started second time! Tried it off and on a few times and it started perfectly every time, Has anyone else experienced this? I'm wondering if the engine management doesn't sense the fuel pressure it won't try to start?
Cheers,
John.
Well sorry this is a load of boll***s did it again Today, plenty fuel!!! gave the wires to the starter a wiggle and it started!!

I'll try anything when in a hole, expect more digging. I'm going to check the all the contacts, earths too, try the easier jobs first then move on to the harder ones if not successful. Sounds like you have loose connections too on your starter.
Cheers.

I'll keep the hammer and wood in the back in case the same problems arises later in the day.
I'm hoping this is enough as the job of removing the starter is problematic. We'll see, Thanks for the advice all....
