More flex without lift. Ideas?

More flex without lift. Ideas? was created by Busta
I'd like to get a bit more flex from my Jimny but I don't want to fit a lift kit.
Currently it is standard with the anti-roll bar disconnected. The rear springs are tired and due for replacement but it's the shocks are limiting the travel.
I know re-location brackets allow the shocks to flex better but they also increase the compressed length of the shock so I'm concerned the shocks will bottom out. Has anyone had that issue?
Are there any other simple ways to get more flex?

I would go for a 2" lift to get your radius ARM mounts up by a bit as if you are sticking with standard sized tyres or not much bigger, they will be what grounds you in even small ruts sooner or later.
With a 2" lift you only need shocks & springs so don't have to worry about castor correction. You were looking to buy shocks anyway and the relatively small cost of springs is worth it.
You could mess around with extended bump stops otherwise but I think you're making life hard for yourself while missing out on the benefits of the springs.

Or you could save a bit of cash and just get spring spacers, your keeping it more or less standard but your have a touch more ground clearance on those radius arm brackets

The difference in cash between spring spacers and springs is not so big to be worth it and with saggy old springs a false economy. If a job is worth doing & all that...
Spacers are good if you just want a lift for mainly appearance or realise their limitations but the OP wants articulation that only springs will provide.
Spacers are also good in addition to springs to gain a little more lift.
