I'm really pleased with it and planning on modifying it over the next few months for trips around the UK and Europe. My girlfriend and I are going to Italy to tour round the Alps and drive to the highest point in Europe off road in the summer :)

Are you thinking of the Col do. Somellier near Bardonecchia? We drove it last September. It climbs for miles and is I think the highest point off road on a track. There was a load of snow at the top but worth driving up. It's a bit rocky in places and we needed low range for some of the way but quite driveable. I was talking to one of the petrol station people who said the local council make sure the track is useable as it attracts quite a lot of interest.
Have fun!

Yes that's the one hopefully I have read it gets pretty busy so hope it wont be to bad. Should be really good did you do the Colle dells Finestre? cheers

Don't know whats happening here but I don't seem able to post under this block, but never mind. We did drive the Colles des Finestre, and several other tracks around that area. We went there with Michel Couret who runs MCO4x4 and organises a 3 day randonee based in Bardonecchia. Really good fun and a lovely area. A lot of the tracks are above the tree line so you can see for miles. Also there are a number of Napoleonic Forts along the way to look at.
Here is the link for his website

At the end are some more photos including my Wrangler which I used for this. We were going to take the Jimny, but decided to have a holiday down on the coast after Bardonecchia, and there wasn't enough room in the Jimny for all the stuff we wanted to take with us! But lovely part of the world and I would certainly go back there.
