Took off my bumper today ready to do a swap with another Jimny and saw the extent of the rust around the headlights. I knew it was there but it's not looking good :unsure:

How much of that can you simply just grind off before it weakens it to the point of needing plating to stop the cancer spreading . If I could I'd do just that and and treat the rest.

Thats a good point. I could have a stab at doing that in the short term. If I could weld I would fab something up much better than what is there but I cant :'(

That looks like a body mount so no rust allowed there, it would have to be repaired.

Fitted new Exedey clutch on Friday, welded both brackets back onto the front section of the exhaust on Saturday and rebuilt the back box Today, just needs son UHT paint on the welds to slow the rust. I think I'll drill a hole in the bottom of the box as the old one was full of water.




On the 8th Day God made the LandRover -
On the 9th day he swapped it for a Jimny.

new gearbox oil, new transfer box oil, new front diff oil, swapped the steering wheel, removed the winch battery , relay and wiring, made a start on moving the lights to upper clusters

standard jimny - for now

Fitted power steering motor , new belt and fixed hoses , also fitted new brake hoses , got to bleed later in the week , then lift !!
