I swear they use tin foil at the factory. Once I remove trim to deal with this sort of thing, it rarely gets put back.

Nipped over to Thorpe area to pick up a set of steel rims purchased from eBay.
Popped into a tyre place to get the old tyres off and binned... A/T tyres but perished, unfortunate as I guess I will need some.
Dropped by work to power wash the rims (the Ambulance station has a nice new power washer )
Out with the drill and wire bits ...
Painted one of them with rust eater ..
Today,
Few coats of primer ... few coats of PlastiKote satin black for the rear of the rims and the first coat of (wait for the screams of pain on the forum  ), PlastiKote satin cream (well porcelain) for the front of rim.
**went for a blat on my VFR as weather nice for the time of year**

It's nice that. Almost anything beats the ubiquitous silver but I have had bad results with PlastiKote so now I use Wilkinson's own.

It reminds me of my old LJ80 - it never had any trim in the back. I suppose it was the nearest to a Landy that they ever got. Mind you, it never rusted either; I'm thinking they used real steel in those days.
