Today I have mostly been doing a spanner check of my suspension having recently had it apart. Nsf lower damper took an extra quarter turn and 5 wheel nuts out of 20 needed a tweak back to 90Nm. Might have a shake down later. It pays to check these things a few days after work.

Hi all
New member - had my Jimny for a week now and very happy. I have been talking about owning one for a long time (10+ years) and I finally took the plunge after handing back my new PCP VW Golf last week

Washed and vacuumed
Touched up stone chips
Renewed number plate screws
Aligned washer jets
Checked tyre pressures
Checked lights and levels
Removed original Suzuki dealer sticker in the rear
Booked in with tint company to have the rear tinted
Ordered Alpine Bluetooth kit

Welcome to the forum. Very nice Jimny. Don't go too mad with the rear tinting, it looks cool but mine is opaque black for the van conversion and makes it impossible to see rear 3/4s on oblique junctions.

Nice.

My 2011 Jimny came pre-tinted, by the look of it it was a factory supplied job. From the outside you can’t see in easily, but it is fine to see out of.

Blue is definitely the [best] colour.

Funny isn't it. I wasn't sure what was wrong with Dreadnaught she just didn't feel right but after yesterday and the spanner check she feels tight again, you wouldn't think a quarter turn on a damper bolt would be so significant.

New EFB Battery in the Car: 12.77V
Original Battery on the bench: 12.76V

For those following and doing the maths, the nett loss of capacity since fitting the EFB Battery would be in the vicinity of 20AH, that is 34% of 58AH! In that time the car has covered about 18km with 8 starts.

When I remove the EFB Battery, probably next week, it will take about 15-20 hours at 1 amp (+ rest time) to recover the initial charge. While that is happening, I will re-fit the original lead acid battery as it is almost fully charged at 12.76V and waiting on the bench.

Today, with the help of the lady from Silver Chain (my aged care provider) we did the Battery swap!!

It has been quite a week, after the battery swap, booking the car in for the 18 month service, then there was the Alternator Tutorial from Martin and followed by the revelation that the engine oil has a part to play, finding and picking up the 0W-20 oil, the car being serviced, an Error Code found in the system and then the drive home. Its no wonder I am exhausted! :woohoo:

I went off roading:woohoo:

With a difference. Through two gardens! Drove up wrong drive to a friends house, (semi detached big old hoose), dividing hedge just been howked out so big soft earth trench now awaiting a fence.
"Just drive over" friend says, rear wheel digs in to fine gravel drive.
For the 1st time since purchase last Oct. I engage LR 4wd, sailed across bumpy divide in fine fashion.

I'm no longer an off-roading virgin!
