So I have a list of problems with the jimny building up, many of them recurring, admitadly a lot of the faults are due to the treatment it receives off roading, but none the less my love for the jimny is beginning to wear thin.

Anyway, brakes are leaving a lot to be desired, I found the rear axle has decided to leak its oil into the drum  so new bearing kit ordered. Also have a creak from the front that needs investigating, kingpins still to do on one side, and now an oil leak from the side that I already did, and a new oil leak from the engine that appears to be coming from the rear main seal :(

Hopefully il have chance to take it off the road for a few weeks in the summer and give it some proper attention. But at the moment I need to use it and it's getting annoying.

Oh well. Give it a week until the works all done and I'm sure il love it again. Just all comes at once, my bike has a misfire aswell so it's back to leg power for a while grrr.

You have my sympathy. I know that yonking off road hurts these things but they should really stand up to more! :(

In the jimnys defence after canewdon I'm just glad I didn't break anything on the day  woke up to a completely flat tyre the other day which wasn't cool.

At least the suns out, il crack on with it and get it right up to scratch before long. Hopefully when it's all sorted it will be a nice little runabout for the summer without much going wrong.
Must do a cambelt aswell as I don't know when that was last done :silly:

Just will be a bit of waste of money for you not to buy some 25mm cds tube and weld the old ends on and have some proper ones if thats what you have done then scrap yhis whole comment lol

I agree.. looks like you have butt-welded your threaded sections onto the end of the tube also.. take a look at any of the Heavy duty aftermarket ones and they all have an insert that goes inside the tubing which clearly provides more support.. I'd be reluctant to take this on the road being honest because you have weakened an already weak part. good idea though:)
