Found a bit of time to carry on with the clutch change. Got the starter motor loose and gearbox off and slid back. Hopefully in my lunch hour tomorrow I can get the clutch changed and start getting it put back together :-)

Got 10 minutes under the J this lunch time. Clutch out and has had it, but the fly wheel has scorch marks and raised bits, possibly with some small cracks, so I have a second hand one coming from Cam Suzuki.

More money and more time spent on this bloody thing

Well im 18 and today was the day i splash out on a few extras for my beloved Jimny, Being 18 its only natural i install an unnaturally loud speaker system, i fitted a new JVC headunit, 4 new edge front and rear 4" speakers and a pyramid subwoofer with a 1000w force amp, with 2 3.4" tweeters and 2 12" subs safe to say i no longer have a boot! aswell as this i fitted some large 5" mudflaps and some xenon headlights, and finally for £50 i picked up cheap used bullbar, repainted and now its looking tip top, an absolute BEAST! its not quite the beauties you all post but im on a budget! all mods so far come to around £200! :woohoo: Any tips for customization on a budget, im your man!

Nice work, looks like a tidy Jimny. It's safe to say, if you have any rust in the boot, it's going to be all over the road when you crank the bass up on those bad boy speakers

Ive had it in pieces when doing the audio, didn't notice any! compared to the other yobbish cars that 18 year olds drive, my Jimny does seem to stand out and get compliments, The women also love the fact its a convertible, sadly though there's limited space in the back seats ;)

IMO i recon itll sound shocking cranked up, the subs have no space to displace the air!way to close to the back door, the air/sound waves will just be forced back onto the sub which could distort the sound.

its amazing how much air a sub moves,my mate used to run 2 15"vibe competition subs in a escort estate with them up against the back seats pointing to the rear, with them cranked up and the boot open you could feel the air being pushed out the back of the car if you were stood behind it!imagine then putting a sheet of wood a few inches in front of the subs, the air that would be forced to the back of the car is bouncing off the wood back to the sub forcing the cone inwards and distorting the sound as the speaker isnt free to move how it should due to the air pressure.

same way the sub itself has to be in a certain sized box to sound its best.

Id trade it all for a 2" lift and some badboy BF goodrich tyres! Just bought a defender low note horn to fit, hopefully it will sound as mean as it looks!

Lol been there, tried doing that  Thankfully being married one does not need to worry about such things anymore. The worse was my Mini. The ash tray behind the front seats in the back was always in the wrong place to rest my knee, if you get my drift :woohoo:

Was worried about that, was tempted to face them forward, but if im honest they do sound pretty awesome! at about 20 out of 50 on the headunit my ears are bleeding :S not willing to risk topping it out, the 4" speakers work brilliantly as tweeters! fits snugly in the boot and a few screws mean its not sliding about! Very pleased!
