You have to keep and be in possession of the original to keep a backup ! So that wont work

I'm not causing a fuss I'm just letting people know that it quite risky openly copying !

Reaper I'm sorry but your wrong ! To copyright something all you have to do is lodge evidence with a date Attached somewhere legally ! Then it's up to others to prove they did it before that date !
The easiest and cheapest way of copyrighting something is take pictures, drawings, measurements, and seal them in an envelope and post them to yourself, that will date stamp it ! Then take it unopened to your solicitor and pay a small fee for it to be stored by them. Then if and when the time comes that you have to go to court then you ask your solicitor to produce it as evidence.
If you don't believe me look into it !

Like I said I don't mind people making a sneaky copy for themselves ! We have all done it.

Reaper why don't you just get under your truck and measure like most people do ?
And make one for a tenner ! Good luck with that !

£10 for the steel + electric for welding +wire for welding+ gas for welding + part of the cost of your welder pro rater + welding gloves+ grinding/cutting wheels and part cost of grinder pro rata+ a place to do it (we all rent or buy our house) + your hourly labour rate + plus cleaning up after+ paint/powder coat.
Still think it's an exorbitant price ? Your just not counting the things you have already bought !
Agian nothing against you ! You just think what many other people do as it's an easy mistake to make, I used to think the same.
So after adding it up what way is cheaper ? A good few hours setting up and making it yourself or doing the same hours in overtime at work and just buying one ?

Food for thought !

And believe it or not I'm more on your side than the big vendors side as I'm just a man in a shed :-)

Ive got all the above and my welding skills are reasonable, well with a MIG anyway.

Despite this I still decided to buy one as I thought it wasnt worth the hassle tbh.

Geez all this balls for one simple question ....forget it i will make my own and any for anyone else that asks
Im not getting into an argument about this its pointless but i know for a fact without copyright (either now or in the future) no claim can be made and even if it is later copyrighted it only takes a small change to warrent your claim void
Im not being an arse about it just telling you how it is as i have been there done it and all i had to show was losing money to a lawyer

No need to get upset ! All I'm saying is if you are going to do it keep it to yourself.
