I wasn't having a go at Reaper or anyone else having ago at making something for themselves, copied or not. I wish I had the means, time and patience to have ago myself.
What grates a little is, as said earlier, when it then goes into 'mass production'. Just seems a little naughty to me and possibly taking advantage of someone's good nature. Probably my ex police and government background kicking in, who knows?
So seeing as how I've set the ball rolling, I best bugger off! :laugh:
Sorry. (not really but you know. I'm at the age I can and do say anything as and when I want, kind of thing. In the scheme of things, we are all but tiny grains of sand...)

Yes but copy right law states it's legal to make one copy for personal use/backup !

On iTunes for instance if you buy a song it on one I device it automatically appears on your other I devices and your pc that you have I tunes on ! All legal.
But if you copy said song and sell that copy it's not !

Same goes for your bash plate you can make a copy if you can prove perchase and ownership of the original.
And it's a popular mid conception that something has to be patent to own the design ! Not true you just have to prove it was your design ! And you did it first !
And there are a few easy ways of doing that very cheaply ! Pm me and I'll tell you how,
And it makes it very easy to sue if it arises with a sure fire win. and also it doesn't need to be an exact copy ! Just some simerlaratys.
So be carfull with what you think you can copy as you just might cross the wrong person.

All my new designs generally get posted on forums and the post are dated ! That's proof in the eyes
of the law unless somebody else comes up with proof that they did it first.

But like I said anybody can copy my bits for them self only but it is nice to be asked.

Oh well thanks for clearing that up for me Rich. Then il just make myself a copy of the skid plate and sell my unwanted original to reaper lol.

as o said i have no intention of copying anyone , all i wanted was some base measurements to work from but if that is causing so much hastle i will jack the truck up and make my own templates ,
but mine won't cost an unreasonable amount for what is about a tenners worth of metal

just as an fyi just because you , ora , kap or anyone has an idea it doesn't belong to you unless you copyright it , i know this from experience in designing custom rc parts
