LMAO, my mate owns his own garage, changed my seized thrust bearing for nowt lol.Unfortunatly only place to buy one is suzuki, £26 trade plus VAT....

would it be too good to be true if i challenged the current owner to sort it for the 150 he has been quoted? I.e. would i risk it knacking up in a few months...if so i'd rather go for another motor entirely and just view this to see how it drives.

Thrust bearings are available separately but that was a reasonable trade price you got from Suzuki. I have been offered them but as most people buy a clutch kit I decided not to stock them.

I would treat the £150 as a negotiating point. If he says it will cost £150 all in then tell him to get it done as part of the sale. If you want to do it then get £150 (your mechanic) + £80 (clutch) discount.
PS - I have a £70 clutch in mine and its pants. I smoked it within a month of fitting. I now nurse my car and will have to fit something more expensive in the future.
