Thanks
The build up of heat in the engine bay is a problem, once you surround the engine with a hull and bonnet. The engine bay is fitted with a temperature sensor and gauge with triggers the cooling fans to disapate the heat.

You've probably noticed I do a little bit of casting from time to time....upshot is I use sodium silicate (waterglass) for making cores......thin as water but with co2 when painted onto fabric it hardens and resists heat very well(it's the main chemical in exhaust paste) I'm going to apply some to my wrap and see how it goes.
Another thing I use is ladle grease which is a ceramic slurry which makes the ladle resistant to molten metals....god awful expensive on ebay and small quantities online.....I got 100kg for £15
With the slurry it's always reminded me of the ceramic coating applied to exhausts from way back........I'll drop a bit on my turbo downpipe to see how well it sticks......might be an option for yours if it adheres well?

As requested and again apologies about the late reply, here are a few pics of the jet drive system...
Electronic transfer case converted to manual shift, with additional PTO and dog leg clutch feeding power to the rear PTO/jet drive shaft
View of the manual shift
The belt drive system taking power from the PTO on the transfercase to the jet drive
Close up of the 8" impeller and rudder that is connected to the steering via a morse cable
Rear view of the Surf showing the impeller/rudder assembly and side thrusters (It will turn on the spot in the water)
