Right, so today I went to Cropleys for a look-see near Boston and wow, what a difference. Very nice people and the place is so much easier to get to though still about an hour away.
He also quoted me a price similar to Reads' but when I mentioned the online price he said he's match it.
He also appreciated the low mileage factor (2000/year) and said they would tailor each future service schedule to suit which would be cheaper - bonus!!! But meanwhile the first year service is a must do as is.
Then I had a long chat with sales; again super friendly.
One point of interest, he told me that on the Swift and Ignis I could not have automatic and allgrip.so those are off the menu. We did discuss the 2018 Junior and I am almost convinced it will suit me nicely plus he did think a version in automatic would be available.
I will be able to say more once Cherry has been serviced though as of now they knock spots off Read's and they will get my business.

Had the service done. Did they charge me to dispose of the old engine oil??????
They put the AGS auto on the "analyser" or whatever it is called and it recalibrated the gearchange. I assume the control brain was put on to a machine to check it.

I ask......what the hell next.

So the Ignis got smashed up today while the wife took the kids to a May fair by a 93 year old who didn't know what day of the week it was, she was doing a u turn and floored it into the Ignis and pushed it into another parked car, the hand brake was on and it was in gear, the wife came back to find the police there and the car parked down the road, glad the kids weren't in it if they hadn't stopped off to bring me home a coffee it might have been a different story..

At least you and yours are all safe and unhurt. Car's are replaceable. Hopefully the insurance won't mess you about too much.

Thanks helijohn
They have done a repair assessment and have sent it to the other insurer the firm uses original parts so hopefully it will be to expensive to fix and they will go down the right off route.
