A sad demise to a nice looking little car
Though I think most people would want a write-off rather than a repair that could manifest the possibility of some problems in years to come, caused by a historic 'war-wound'
IF IT AINT BROKE, KEEP FIXING IT UNTIL IT IS

Feels like my Celerio has lost a cousin.Daniel30 wrote: Thanks helijohn
They have done a repair assessment and have sent it to the other insurer the firm uses original parts so hopefully it will be to expensive to fix and they will go down the right off route.

Yes very lucky Dave, the Mrs could have quite easily been putting the kids in the car or shopping in the boot and would have been a whole different story
We found out today that it has been written off...

Daniel30 wrote: No the Mrs fancies a Kia Picanto x line s, so that's where we are heading on Sunday
Nice motor. I know someone who swears by Kia. Just Googled it and I can see the likeness to the Ignis. So what is the outcome?
I bought my Celerio for city driving with occasional long trips in mind and now I am in Lincs I find the roads a bit too rough to subject it to and I am doing more long trips as civilisation is an hour away where it used to be 5 mins away before. Make no mistake, the Celerio can cope but I hate driving a nice motor where a tractor is at home.
I also find endless people driving at speeds like 42mph in a 60 zone and really want something that can overtake with ease. Again, the Celerio is no slouch but zero to sixty in three seconds would be very useful. When it takes forty five minutes to an hour to get ANYWHERE I don't have time for crawlers out for a Sunday drive no matter what day it is. Trouble is I don't know what to get nor when to get it. lol

Typical Mrs spend a whole week researching kia Picanto's and we end up with an ecosport   1.0 turbo went on a long test drive and it's quite pleasant wouldn't want to take a roundabout at speed though  the new 1.4 turbo swift is out soon that might meet your requirements

I'll keep my eyes peeled for the 1.4 Swift.
I am really tempted to wait another few years and p.ex it for a latest Jimny.
