NOTE: This is for members and their private sales/wants.
There are rules that suppliers have to follow (and many of you do follow the rules). However there have been a number of instances recently where "suppliers" have broken the rules.

Suppliers/Dealers or anyone selling with a commercial view in mind CANNOT post here unless responding to a specific request of a member in a "wanted" post.

Suppliers include people "breaking for spares" on a regular basis, when purchasing spares members should ask a supplier what they contribute to the running of the forum

Forgot to mention insurance, with all of those mods, insurance could be an issue and might limit choice.

True but I believe you are obliged to update the v5 to record the number of seats if you are increasing it. And that's before you start conflating taxation classes and such. I looked at doing it with my hard top land cruiser and decided it was a lot more paperwork than the benefits of extra seats were worth. We also did it the other way round with my last jimny as at the time you couldn't get a jimny van but you could then easily change the taxation class to commercial prior to registration and then have the flat ved rate and other vat benefits but they since stopped all that. This does of course assume that all such things are taken care of at the point of modification by whomever is deemed responsible.

In one there vids on there web site says with the rear seats fitted it's still a van not a car.
Insurance would be stupid high.
Mods, rear seats, paint enhancements, led head rear side lights, infotainment radio, leather steering wheel Ect Ect. Maybe OK for a business not for a person.

I'm not saying it should be registered as a car. I'm saying that it needs to have the correct number of seats recorded on the documents. Besides I think that they are very resistant to changing from commercial to passenger as it was used as a tax loophole.

If it cost over £40,000 new, wouldn't it fall into the luxury VED band if it were a car?  Or were the converters actually the first owners on the VED?

Heavens.

Anyone who is prepared to spend that much on a Jimny can have our pristine low mileage 2020 SZ5 for £6,000 less (you'd need to pay that to prise it off my wife).

Having said that, it's all relative. l've got a customer spent over £30,000 on their HI-FI system.
