Has anyone else noticed increased latency (takes longer to load/open web pages) since the migration?
This is the only site I'm seeing it with, so I'm not certain where the problem lies.

There has been a noticeable improvement.

Having to log in every couple of hours really puts me off this wonderful forum.

I am active on several other platforms and this is the only forum where this occurs.

Happy new year to everybody!

You should be able to have your browser remember your login details (Chrome does), that way you only have to tick 'Remember Me' and click 'Login'. That's how mine is set up.

As previously mentioned, its a trade off as sessions take both memory and disk space. Therefore the longer the session timer, the more memory and disk space is consumed. I have been tuning for performance recently and now have been extending the session timers whilst keeping an eye on performance. If it hits the point where it crashes due to lack of memory/disk space then I will have to stop increasing the session timers. The session timers are just over 24 hours at present,

The system starts a "session" for every contact with the site, therefore bots and automated crawlers etc. can create literally thousands of sessions, its not just logged in users.

As also stated you have to have cookies enabled for the site and have checked the remember me option as well
