GoSober for October... was created by X8GGY
Once again this year, I've participated in MacMillan Cancer Support's "Go Sober for October" -

I've now been sober* for 21 days and will be making it all the way to the end of October thanks to many kind donations from friends, to the tune of £181, so I'm well on my way to my goal of (at least) £200, and there's still the two collection boxes on the counters of my Shop and Post Office to count and pay in at the end of the month...

*Being sober that long may not seem like much to some, but I used to drink 3 or 4 cans of Stella Artois EVERY night, so to go 'cold turkey' sober for 3 weeks does take some doing... and I am going to restrict my drinking to weekends, particularly after a good day's 'laning when it's well known that I like to get home, strip off, rund down the street... errr, no, have a hot shower and a cold can of Stella at the same time... ;)

So, if anyone has any spare change, and wants to help out a very worthy cause, all donations go direct to MacMillan Cancer Support...

Here's my donations page - www.gosober.org.uk/users/dave-jones

Thanks, for reading this, and for any donations ;)

Dave, Bits4Vits

Thanks Dan ;)

No luck to it though... it's people like you donating that MAKE me have to do it and reach the goal of a whole month off the Stella...

CHEERS matey!

And, you've just helped me reach my donation goal... but as I've mentioned in the blog (there's always a blog!) www.bits4vits.co.uk/store/going-sober-fo...-2016-/blog_353.html - my next goal is the £250 donation 'badge'

Dave

Not for any reason than i was bored with drinking and not being able to drive the following morning but this is now my 9th year sober. If helping a charity helps you to dry out then more power to you. Whatever it takes, keep at it.

The fourth weekend in, and I decided to empty the collection boxes on the Shop and Post Office counters again, as they were getting heavy and some kind people had given me notes to put in, including another generous donation from my 'laning buddy Alan Evans again!

So, when I counted the contents of both boxes there was a whopping £82.70 in them! That has swollen the fund to a mahoosive £423.39! :woohoo:

That edges me ever closer to my new goal of raising £500! Should do it... With YOUR help? Every little helps!

If you want to donate to this very worthy cause, and remember all proceeds go directly to MacMillan Cancer Support, just click here - www.gosober.org.uk/users/dave-jones
