I think I saw those advertised on ebay and I nearly went for them but Paignton is not just down the road from harrogate.

Haha, yes kind of kills the bargain basement price when you've got to spend that much on travel! Hopefully the chap I'm buying them from will be glad they're being put to good use.

I'll be sure to post some before, during and after pictures once they've been Raptor Coated B)

Am I right in thinking that you can get upol in different colours to for instance match the bumper grey on the gen3?

I've only managed to get a set of 4! not to say I couldn't expand on that in the future when one inevitably becomes available cheap enough.

Did you hand abrade your set Soeley? I've got a local powder coating shop that I've used before for shot blasting so may go that route as the end result is a lovely even 'keyed' surface. But then again I've got no rush

I'm sure the mrs will be enthralled when I tell her I'm going to be spending my weekend keying up a set of steel wheels :side:

The Upol website says that Aerosol raptor liner can be bought in a small array of colours, grey is one of those. But for some reason they only seem to be available on US Ebay?? all of the UK stockists seem to be selling the standard black stuff. You can buy the larger tint-able shutlz bottles if you've got the facility to spray.

Buzzweld sell their 2K FX liner in many different colours, the texture is supposed to be more subtle than raptor liner. It's nice to support local British businesses so I may give them the custom.

I used a wire brush, cup & flat in the angle grinder. That was good enough for the 4. The 5th need rust treatment and filler primer. I'm hoping the next rub down with wet & dry will be the last before final colour.

The yellow is the filler primer. I gave it a light dusting with silver so could see the low spots stand out. It has had another good coat of filler primer and a silver dusting. Just waiting another rub down now.

You've clearly put a lot of time into that. You had your work cut out with that one! I've always found red oxide is a great high build primer. It fills imperfections and provides a good rust preventative foundation.

What type of black finish coat did you go for in the end?

Please forgive my ignorance, but how did you get to calling the Jimny a "ZOOK"

l know there will be an explanation but l can't work out the connection between "JIMNY" and "ZOOK"
