After 6 months off the road being used as a farm truck, it's MOT time tomorrow! So I decided to give the Jimny a thorough clean.

While I was under there I took a few pictures of the drivetrain. I figure they might come in handy for someone who's trying to picture it all but can't easily get under theirs for a gander.

Other than a dubious crack in the windscreen, I'm fairly confident the MOT won't throw up any surprises...

I like the look of the green one, but with such a short bed length they don't really score many points for practicality! I had something like this in mind... but it would involve lengthening the chassis, and that would require putting the car through an SVA test which is all sorts of hassle!

I had given it a 'thorough' jet wash before I did this, but it's amazing the places you just can't get too with the wheels on the ground. I must have washed off another 10kg of mud and crap with it lifted up!

I like the confidence of the person filming " you'll be alright..... mabie " and a very good jet wash technique.

Suzuki NZ introduced a pick-up version in May 2014 as part of the range, although it became special order as of October 2014. "Unique to New Zealand, the Flatdeck has an extended wheelbase that provides more load-carrying space. The deck measures 1,550mm by 1,550mm and has a carrying capacity of 300kgs. The lengthened chassis also improves weight transfer bringing more of the load weight in front of the rear wheels. The local engineering adaption called for a replacement driveshaft, but otherwise the Flatdeck is mechanically similar to the factory Jimny hardtop." Spare wheel is carried below the deck.
