Well I managed to go see MCB yesterday afternoon for a measure up and chat about what I wanted.
Matt and Liam are both thoroughly nice chaps.
Blimey, I wasn't expecting the dirt road up to the farm I'm not surprised that they don't bake sports car racks
So just to wait for the basket to be made and then over for the feet fitting and powder coating )
Can't wait!
Oh yes, thanks for emailing Matt about the job/awning etc.

Just a quick update to say that the funds have been sent over for the roof rack so I'm excitedly awaiting my call from Matt to let me know the basket section is done and he's ready to fit the feet.
My wife has very kindly agreed to get me the terrain awning from Santa for me too )
Tic tock tick tock.........
Pics soon hopefully

how highly do you rate the side curtains and how do they store away? in a separate bag? or rolled up with the awning its self?

They give you privacy and shelter from the wind so I would not be without them. I can get a camping loo, small table and 2 chairs inside with room to spare.. Remember the the curtains only cover 2 sides, it is open at the back (against the car) this doesn't bother me as it allows me to get in the car easisly.
This is the roof tent annex and you can see how small it is and why I bought the awning side
The awning sides all pack away into a stuff sack same as this

you have a very nice purpose built Jimny. I wish camping was as big here in Barbados. Was the lamppod you bought from QT services specific for the Jimny or did you have to modify it?
Thanks

It was a Landrover pod (Discovery 2 I think) the onlt thing i had to do is trim the lip off the bottom a little where it normally hooks under the bonnet, the curve of the pod is almost identical the bonnet.
The bloke at QT was very helpful even though they dont actually make one for our jimny's, he searched round for one they have that would be close.
Hope this helps
