I agree with you JJ the Nato hitch is the best by far. I thought of a sankey trailer to use also.

DW

you could try making your own version of the ozhitch

That just looks like two ends of a prop with the UJ with a trailer hitch welded to it

Well finally managed to get round to building the storage compartments in the back of the Jim. i removed all the seats and made a plywood floor with hinged section for the tool well. Its paneled behind the front seats which will have a series of cargo nets to house maps, translation books etc.

I made two batons and covered them with carpet which sit in the recess of the tropicool cooler to lock it into position. The bottom will have strong Euro crates each side for cooking utensils etc and the other side will be food items..

It would tow like poo, it needs to be low and wide to be stable. Also using anything other than an approved 50mm ball hitch on a jimny is illegal. So no nato hitches or
ball and pin as these are also a no no on passenger cars.

Hi Gaz

It was the actual Rascal Pickup Tub I was referring to, I was not going to run it as high as it is in the picture, I was thinking lower than a sankey trailer in height.
