It doesnt look as if the back i sagging at all with that trailer on it. What is the gross wait of that trailer, looks about 1000kg? Is it a braked trailer? I think in the UK the max we can tow with a Jimny 1300kg braked. Very impressive for a little car :)

Hi Nobby, It had sagged only by about 10mm, The gross weight would have been at least 900kg, my final Hi/Lo ratio (including tyres) is about 5% lower than standard Jimny. Our towing capacity is lower here in later VVT models I think. Really had to be gentle with her particularly when taking off in first gear. She could pull a bit more but it would be hard work.
Oh yeah, impressive for such a small car.

So what gearing are you running and tyre size?
Over here you can tow 350kg un-braked, almost not worth bothering with a trailer that small. Or a max of 1300kg braked. Which is fine but very few trailer company's, in the UK, make a braked trailer under 1300kg. The lowest i found so far is 750kg braked. In other words you have to either buy a tiny trailer or get a much bigger trailer with brakes. Nothing inbetween :angry: Rant over :laugh:

My Jimny is the late model VVT version, which VVT has very different ratios.
Big Jimny ratio info
The final ratios are exactly as I planned but to achieve them I;
• Swapped the gearbox for a M13A (Non VVT) gearbox
• Swapped to a 1.3 SJ transfer

My old Jimny had a max towing of 1300kg braked but this newer one is only 600kg or something like that. My camper trailer is about 400kg when loaded but I built it to be light weight for the JImny to tow through soft sand.

Forgot to post this. Scored a rear spoiler off ebay a couple of months back. Brand new "old stock" was already silver for only $70... SCORE!!

Had a great and reasonably relaxing Christmas thanks, hope everyone else had an equally great Christmas too. New year was a bit disappointing when I had to turn back from holidays due to Jimny wobble, the warped rotor version. Installed some new rotors, pads and panhard bushes, totally wobble free now for the first time since buying it new.

Finally have nice true rotors :) no more wobble when braking

Threw on a set of new pads too of course

Finally got around to sorting a new brake balance bracket too

Picked up a used rear bar today which I'll be trimming and grafting these LEDs into

Also bought a Rotax Fuel carrier for the work trailer which also fits well on the roof.
