Is your Jimny missing the controls? I thought all Gen 4s and the LCV had them.

The controls are only sold here (UK) as a complete steering wheel.

We have two variants, here are pictures of both parked out on my driveway

The "Voice" version is fitted to the SZ4 and LCV versions of the Jimny 48110-78R60-HLF

The "Bluetooth" version is fitted to the SZ5 version of the Jimny 48110-78RK1-HLF

Oddly my SZ5 has the 'voice' version rather than the Bluetooth one. Wonder if it's an early/later car thing?

It is age related as the first edition parts manual does have the Voice version against the SZ5. It's James SZ5 that has the Bluetooth version and his was 6 months into the production run. Strange!

My June 2020 SZ5 has the voice logo, not that I ever use it.

So, in summary, it seems random as to what to get.

For us the difference matched the difference between the SZ5 leather steering wheel and the plastic SZ4/LCV so it looked to me like you got a Bluetooth logo button on the leather and Voice logo on the plastic. This also aligned with the different entertainment units.

However it looks like everyone has a seemingly random switch cover design?

Yep.

2019 SZ5 (auto) "leather" (I seriously doubt it is of animal origin though) wheel, voice logo.

The Certificate of Conformity has my VIN on it and the signature is dated 21 Nov 2018, I bought it May 2019, and it just missed the first fuel pump recall so it has to be built late 2018/early 2019.

Surely it would make more sense for SZ5 to have voice logo, as it has the (frankly useless) voice command system that you need to lever that button to activate (and then just try getting it to admit that you have been shouting "cancel........cancel.........CANCEL!!!!!" for ages. )

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

That's pretty curious never thought the part no. Would be attached to the whole steering wheel.

thanks for all the replies

Perhaps someone can confirm, regardless of the 'logo' on the button, does it do the same thing?

E.g. the button with Voice logo on my SZ5 activates the speech recognition, so what does the button with the Bluetooth logo do?

Then there is the question, are all Gen 4s fitted with the speech recognition system?

Finally having tried to use, I find the speech regonition pretty useless, as 'Facade' said as soon as someone invents one of these 'features' they also need to add the off button.

So if you haven't got speech recognition and you are thinking of getting it, I wouldn't bother.
