Hi All.

I have an oil leak at the top back side of the engine. i replaced the valve cover gasket, and it doesn't seems to be it.
I'm suspecting the part marked in the IMG. does that make sense?

I looked for the part, and i couldn't find in in any part diagram.

What is that part? and does it have a gasket that could leak oil?

Thanks!
Ofer Elimeleh.

The item you marked is the EGR. There’s no oil inside, just exhaust gases that are routed back into the intake manifold and of course soot.

So, if you are looking for an oil leak then this is not the place.

Thank you for pointing me to the EGR valve!

I know there is no oil in it, but it is mounted on the cylinder head with a gasket.
That's my assumed Culprit.

Makes sense?

EGR valve can leak oil if it builds up in the inlet manifold, though the leak is more likely to be from the rocker cover rubber gasket, which has two half moon shaped cutouts at the back just above the EGR valve and needs installed with RTV sealant.

If the oil is black and sooty then its probably to do with the EGR, if a bit cleaner then the cover gasket.

If the cover has been off for any reason and this disturbed it needs refitted carefully to get a good seal and stop leaks.
