Hi all,
1998 Jimny G13BB LHD with 1600/1700 rpm....... cold or hot does not change anything ...
where is the problem ?
and in this regard, wanting to make a diagnosis, where the diagnostic socket is ?
thank you
Giacomo

Hi,
My Jimny starts up at about 1600 rpm, but soon settles down even on cold mornings. It might be the O2 sensor (pre or post CAT) which is faulty.
The OBD-II socket is under the dash board near to the steering column. and bonnet release.
OBD reader will tell you if it is the O2 sensor.

Thank you DrRobin,

Sounds like the Idle control valve or a vacuum leak.
Yours is OBD1. There is a reader in existence for your engine but there's another way I don't profess to know as I've a twin cam on OBD2.

I don't know as I have a much later Jimny. Surely someone who has had a g series can shed some light?

It's just under the dashboard, on the UK model just up by the drivers knee. On the LHD version it's the mirror image.
But you have the G13 version which is not readable by commercial readers.
Instead you need to link the connector behind the glovebox and read the dash lights. Therefore you can't read continuous readings

Thank you mlines
in fact, that's exactly what I was asking for
Is the pic of white connector the one I need to use for the diagnosis ?
