I am puzzled.
The Suzuki dealer has told me that the automatic transmission fluid level is not checked on scheduled services because the auto box is a sealed unit and has no dip stick.
I wonder why the owner’s manual specifies the correct automatic transmission fluid is SUZUKI AFT3317 OR Mobil AFT3309 or equivalent to DEXTRON-III?
How do I maintain the automatic transmission fluid?
Regards.

From the manual (downloadable version on Suzuki site, which seems to differ slightly from hardcopy) for 'normal' driving conditions in the EU, inspect fluid level every 24 months or 25k miles, replace every 99k miles.
For 'severe' driving conditions in the EU it's inspect every 12 months or 12500miles and replace every 18000miles.

Thanks for your posting.
Is the downloadable manual for the 2019 Jimny?
Suzuki are pretty vague with their model naming system.

You need special suzuki hands to reach it, or the engine will have to come out first, so I can't pull it out to find out what is attached to the bung.
If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

I am going to look.
Yes there it is!
Why can't we trust the dealers, you spend £2,000 and thet can't be straight with you?
Thank you for your help.

They probably don't know. They sell cars, they don't have to know what makes them go
To be fair, most "modern" cars do have gearboxes & final drives that are "sealed for life"- "for life" means "until they fail for want of oil outside the warranty"
My new Guzzi doesn't have a level plug on the gearbox like the old one, when you pay for a service, they drop the oil out, and are supposed to inject just the right amount in by volume. If any leaks out you are stuffed. (You aren't supposed to touch anything yourself)
If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

Yes, it's for the Gen4 - stick your VIN into the Suzuki site and that's the manual it provides.

Thanks for that.
Is there any way to search for text anywhere in the PDF file?
