water underneath the backseats was created by hudeck
hello,

i've searched the forum if their were any owners that have the same problem i have.

i have a suzuki jimmy soft top.
and the challenge / problem i'm having is as the subject is describing.
but i cannot figure out were the water is coming from?

how i discovered this is that i found some water stain underneath the car a couple of days ago.
first i thought it was the fuel tank that was leaking but then i thought it couldn't be, so i took the seat in the back out and discovered a lot of water/oil underneath it by the draining plugs.
so i cleaned all the water out and the problem was gone, but after a couple of days and some rain the water was back at that same place.

is there something i forgot to take a look at to solve my little challenge

It doesn't often happen but Martin's comment is wrong, he's suggesting the one way valve in the rear screen washer pipe, but yours is a soft top which doesn't have a rear screen wash.
I'd suggest it must be the soft top that is leaking somewhere and running down behind the side trim panels.

On the 9th day he swapped it for a Jimny.

I've just had the side panels out of my latest Jim to check for corrosion before boarding it out, a d found a tiny hole in the nearside wheel arch ....a strong contender for water ingress :sick

I've also suffered from this, and still do but less by putting towels and carpet down. In my case pretty sure it's the result of condensation, the formation of water molecules from damp air on cold surfaces - happens a lot in the North UK at least. :(

Makes me wonder about putting one of those moisture traps in the car, the sort people put in their caravans while they're in storage....it's amazing how much water they'll catch....especially in the North East

its a bit messy but a good way to find a leak is to sprinkle talcum powder all round the back or the edges of your Jimny then the next time it leaks it will leave a trail to where the water has come from as we all know sometimes the water can collect quite away form the actual leak itself ;)
