importance of extras when lifting was created by ne-crock
Just a question of how important the other parts of a lift kit are,

I got a bit of spare cash enough to afford 3" shock springs and brake lines, this month,

how important is it to fit panards bushes etc

i mean i could buy it and leave it off till i can afford the rest, but the likelyhood of me lasting with it sat there isnt high,

has anyone done this?

cheers
Crock

Doing a 3" suspension lift, changing bushes is not enough. You'll need new radius arms.

Well, steering won't self-centre. Would't go as far saying it's dangerous without.. But yes.. I'd correct the castor angle.

That you will also need, otherwise the axles won't under the body. I'm not sure how this will affect steering though. Try searching the forum. It has been covered before. You should also consider panhard relocating brackets, to keep the panhards level.

I drove mine for a week before i fitted the castor correction bushes and when i fitted them i could hardly tell the difference. Yes i got the panhard relocation bracket but i didnt get the adjustable rods, my wheels are slightly offset to 1 side from the body but hardly noticable. Most people on here have plenty of money to throw at their jim so they do it. I say fit your springs then make your own decision on the other parts.

Yeah mate I got both rear wheels on now with brake calipers refurbished with new seals, also complete car stripped back, rust coverted and undersealed. Fitted and tapped breather into tbox and just fitting xbrake system (which is a bit fiddly really but great peice of kit, and will allow me to fit fiddle brakes later on). :)
