What's the reason you want a split charge system ?
If it's just for winching there's no real reason for it. Just parallel connect the batteries.

Steve.
And go for 24V ?
All the challengetrucks I've seen have no need for fancy split charger. Two batteries in parallel connection works fine.

2 in parralel = 2 x ah that will strain and posibly blow the alternator
ad to that the need for large cable running to the boot and its all a bit point less
get a cheep spliy charger it uses nice small cable that is eazily run . and it auto detects wbdn main batter if full and switches charge to secondary , no chancs of ever running main battery flat

170A is to much for it
add to that the stronger of the 2 batteries will always try to back feed so it will not get to its full capacity and may even damage the smaller one by overcharging it

The reason is I use amateur radio equipment and quite a powerful linear amp.
The radio draws around 10 amps and the linear around 45 ish..
