Rear leaning suspension

Ok, noticed to day that the rear nearside suspension has droped about 1.5cm, compared to the off side. It is most noticeable when going up hill as you can hear the wheel rub in. Oh this after Tong, which i did the blue with a couple of reds, there was a bang at one point, although i think this may be bottoming out.
Going to have a look tommrow, and see if there is any thing amiss. Any one got any hints whats to look for?

A broken spring sounds most likely.
You could have bent the shock absorber enough to seize the suspension on that side, but I'd look at the spring first.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

Well, had the car up on the stands and had the springs off, all present apart from some missing plastic coating. It seams that the "lean" was down to the placement of the emergency bag (basic tool kit, first aid etc) and the hi-lift jack and associated kit. Having removed all this it is back to normal, but when i have a passenger in the Jim-Jam there is still rubbing occurring when going up hill. Is this due to the spring getting old or should i be looking at some thing else?

I also have this problem for a week now. After a hard 4x4 day. when i got back home and park,

i noticed that at the right back side the car is 1,5cm shorter.

I took a look under to the bolts etc and all looked ok.

Know every time i get a co-driver and passenger at back seats the car bends at rear right about 1,5cm.

When i am alone its ok.

What the  is going on?

without much info....has the Jimny got a lift at all.????
just a shot in the dark....maybe the suspension has seen better days if its std ?

more info would help try and determine the issues......

Nope just standard suspension, just shy of 60K miles (2001). Starting to think its just getting old. Been looking at the 2 inch lift kits as alternative replacing as standards are about the same price, and the wife has agreed that it makes sense! This will have to go on the back burner as moneys tight with moving house and a baby coming up, I just want the car to be safe.
Perhaps I should mention these hills are steep, the Jimny needs to 3rd / 4th at high revs to get up them at a reasonable speeds.
