Internal Tailgate latch/cover

Hi
i am looking to cover the internal boot latch on my 2007 Jimny, but I can’t find a part anywhere online :(
there are four plugs in holes that look like a part may exist and can simply plug in to cover the latch.
Im concerned my hounds may open the boot whilst on the road and wondered if there was something more permanent and proper than a piece of gaffer tape!
any help would be appreciated!

Partly because of my doggo and partly to increase the volume of the boot and partly to preserve the door card I replaced the factory one with a flat abs sheet which happens to cover the internal release. Not for everyone granted but it is effective.

That would be great. I’d love to see it as it sounds like a great idea!
If you know a good place to get the plastic that info would be well received too!
Thanks again :)

Did you use "riv-nuts" for that? I've planned something similar for my JC74, primarily to get a bit more space behind the rear seats, I've sourced a piece of 1/4" PVC sheet from a friend that runs a sign making business and not made the time to cut it to shape and spray it black.

I haven't decided how to secure it to the door yet, I do have riv-nuts that should be suitable, but I think I want to use removable plastic trim clips, so I'll need to measure to determine what size I need.

Yeah I did. They are all in existing holes and can accommodate refitting the factory stuff easily.

I believe they were only fitted to Japanese market vehicles, I've found a few on auction sites.
