Thank heavens for that!

No offence, but I have experienced Japanese cars and motorcycles built supposedly to Japanese standards in Spain and England. Unless I am the unluckiest person in the World, they patently are nowhere near the same standard, and no way will I accept one unless the VIN starts with a J.

This is why I have an order placed now, in case a future policy change has UK ones built by Maruti.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

For those of you concerned about your place in the queue there might be a way of accelerating past others ahead of you and acquiring a Jimny

I understand some dealers are now being offered the Jimnys used for the launch events and press cars. So it might not be a brand new one but a slightly used one? Interested to see where these cars pop up and who secures them? Either way it should see a few more owners on UK roads.

Might ask mine next week, though expect got none as asked to let me know. Though I would rather wait until end of year or next, but not if made elsewhere or engine changes for the worse!

Mortified, found out my local dealer was selling off the demos they have , passed details in to someone interested in getting one, the cheeky swines want £25k for it. Tomorrow after work I’m calling into stealership to rip them a length off.

This is 100% against Suzuki UK policy. Whether they would actually do anything about it or not, I have no idea. Almost as bad as the ones popping up on Autotrader and eBay for silly money. People buying them not because they wanted them but to make a quick buck. I know of one already that the sales managers 'mate' was conveniently top of the queue for.

I rang Suzi UK. The top sales manager said they know nothing about it, and that it is not suzi policy. The dealer in question made lots of waffly statements, some too long to comprehend. All i had ringing in my head was this 25k figure. He mentioned that the paperwork and hassle of selling this demo squeezed his profit margins that much, that he needed to sell at this price to make only 1k profit to break even. Sounded like BS to me and i was loosing the will to live.

This afternoon he left a voicemail message, he would knock it down to 24k (presumably wiping out his profit margin lol) and that was his final offer. Needless to say i declined.

Oh...and another thing he said was that the cars value has gone up due to scarcity, and in fact the increase is justified. So yeah i got a mix of info that left me scratching my noggin. But at the end of day, he was asking thousands more than retail. If anyone is happy with that explanation, then its yours to purchase, just ask.

The demo was in blue, had 1.6k of accessories, but thats still a huge mark up and is extortionate IMO.

Ive resided myself to a long wait, and im coming to terms with that fact via a good therapist ;-)
