anyone know much about these www.kapsuzuki4x4.co.uk/suzuki/jimny.php ? (about 1/2-3/4 down the page)

they look a better option than weld on ones but how much are they? do they put alot of strain on the diff casing as im guessing they mount using the bolts holding the diff together? is anybody using them?

there dosnt really seem much out there in the world of jimny diff protection, landrover ones are everywhere and seem reasonably cheap! why does no one like jimnybits or ora do slider type bolt on guards?

or is it because our diff housings are hardcore and dont need protecting?!

from what i here our diff casings are thin and week, im also thinking of some sort of guard and was just about to through up a qestion just like this but asking what people use, i think the slidder type mite add to the limited clearance bollow the diffs, im steering towards the weld on type

ive heard that about landy diffs and how there made from tin cans but not about ours, you would think if they were weak diff guards would be readily available (like landrover ones are)?

they dont look like they would hang down very much, need to look at the diff really to see what sort of spacing there is from the bolts to the bottom of the casing.

hopefully someone on here uses them and can tell us.

i suppose the idea is is that you slide over what you hit so the reduction in clearance might not be an issue.

ive heard rumours of peoples axels being damaged during the welding process so am abit reluctant to do that would rather bolt something on

Here is my front diff/axle guard, lightweight but better than nothing.

Transfer box cover/slide

Again, lightweight but quick and easy to make.

unfortunately i dont have the tools or skills (cant weld) to build one myself otherwise i would.

just tryin to find out peoples opinion on the KAP ones and if anyone knows a price,

ive seen ones like yours but they cost an arm and a leg and generally have to be imported.

i could probably get something like the KAP ones fabricated if i designed it myself but why bother if there not to expensive to buy.

I've got the Asfir ones - they are shipped in from germany to order but............. they look the part and are proper heavy duty  I cant weld so it was bolt on for me - but my thinking is, if it bolts on, when i trade the current one in, i can unbolt and fit to the new one. Might seem a lot for a diff guard but second hand axles aint cheap either. Asfir gets my vote :P :P
