My jimny currently has no lift but has insa dakars, a snokel, radius arm gaurds and a transfer guard will this be ok? I have no recovery points bar standard ones anyone got any pointers please?

A 5 meter rope and a bridle strop is best bet on standard tie down points, and 4 Shackles.

Courage is another nessesity. The Jimny WILL go places you never thought possible. Some decent recovery points would be an advantage as the original ones are not very strong.

Check with the people at the entrance what the protocol is to let people know you're stuck! Sometimes you're meant to beep your horn until people come and see you but other places are quiet rules and you just have to go find someone.

Make sure your staps are all ready attached and tied up to the top of the bonnet/over the spare wheel. Have fun finding out why if you don't

Clothes you don't mind getting muddy and boots that won't get sucked off your feet in the mud!

The number for your AA membership for when you kill the car

Keep your mobile phone in something waterproof.

As for driving if you've not done much off road... Don't ride the clutch and if you only make it half way up a steep slope then be prepared to shove it in reverse and come back down rather than putting the brakes on and rolling over backwards.

So dont roll the car and expect to get stinking:p thanks for your help guys. Is a cb radio a must or just a bit of a toy?
