hey guys im curently running a 1.3 sohc in my jimny im finding its a little on the low power side i was wondering how complicated it would be to either fit a vitara 1.6 or v 6 under the bonnet im a hgv mechanic so tools and equipment is no issue i was just wondering if any one had any disater storys off the job in question or if its a fairly straight forward wap

Hi mate I think the most popular engine is the suzuki baleno 1.6. You need to swop a fw parts here and there and mod the oil pick up pipe etc and you need the gear box mounting plate from the jimny shop. I wasout with Zuki Andy a couple of weeks ago and it was alot bettr on power than mine and he's running 31" tyres. There is a full list of what to do on this forum.

nice one keep us posted on what your going to put in. I would like to put a 1.9tdi in mine,I have seen a isuzi engine in a jimny i think it was a 1.9tdi. A V6 would be nice though

Worth buying an old baleno for breaking, keep the engine, flog what parts you can then weigh the rest in.
