Drop pitman arms can be really difficult to remove
also lowering angle pitman arms are not cheap
So i say cut drag link and weld in a thick plate making a z formation
just to see if it warrants spending on a lower angle drop pitman

A "Z-bar" will not have the same effect as a drop pitman arm - the pivot points remain unchanged, all it will do for you is allow the drag link to not foul on the leaf spring (if that is a problem).
