Hey guys, I’m new to the forum but this is the second Jimny I’ve owned, It’s a black 2001 JLX 16V and I bought it last August.
There’s been so many complications with this car! The previous owner mainly used it for farm use and quick trips to town so the car wasn’t kept in the best condition. The previous owner also added modifications like angel eye lights, temperature gauges, snorkel (glued onto the bonnet) and other things.
The main issue with my car is the electrical wiring, previous owner absolutely mangled the internal wiring for the steering wheel, radio, ECU and honestly everything that’s connected to a wire. It took me about three months to get my ECU repaired and the steering wheel took another month because he added a new steering wheel that didn’t fit properly, didn’t have an airbag and housed a nest of spiders behind the casing!
On top of these electrical issues there was also mechanical issues with break callipers, the fan, clutch, water pump and the exhaust.
Through trials and tribulations I got all of these fixed and even now an issue pops up every once in a while, safe to say my wallet has seen better days. I’m 24 and have a part time job so the car expenses were a good punch in the stomach.
I can genuinely say that I don’t regret buying this car even though it’s the same age as me, my car is my baby and she’s worth it!
If anyone has any tips on how to keep it in tip top shape I’d be more than appreciative

Welcome mate
For a farm truck it does look clean! I'm glad you don't regret it because if it was me I would of bought different one by now haha
