That's cool. Nice simple solution.

Temeraire (2018 quasar grey automatic)

I have bought an 80w solar panel specifically for the Gen4 Jimny, as in shape and size for the bonnet from  Lensunsolar

I have got this to (hopefully) keep my power pack topped up (that runs my fridge) for longer camping stay with no or little driving around.
I thought it best to test it first before sticking to the bonnet.

As an option, I bought the vinyl decal to protect the paint work (hopefully, that will pay off for when the panel is removed).

I did trim it down to suit the shape of the panel better, it was about 15mm bigger all around, but the corner radius didn't match the panels.

Careful positioning, once the 3M VHB double sided tape has been applied to the panel. Then a masking tape hinge along the top, to hopefully allow it to go back to the same position once all the backing tapes have been removed.

After if had been stuck and weighted down for 24 hours, it was then masked up ready for a Sikaflex fillet.

Really pleased with how that turned out, still wet from the soapy water.

Next was to get the optional wires through to the back of the Jimny. I ordered 5m, with only the panel connectors on to make it easier to get through the bulkhead grommet.

Went through, quite easily. I followed a loom and cable-tied to the OEM clipping points.

I bought a pack of Anderson Powerpole connectors, I'd already done a test crimping before hand to make sure I got it right.

This setup could change after I have used it. I have left the cables long to allow for the fridge to slide out. I might end up relocating the power pack to the left side, down beside the drawer unit, or see about a connector panel to terminate the cables next to the OEM power outlet in the rear.

Depending on the angle and light, sometimes it looks bluer than others.

Fridge had just been switched on so was drawing 30w whilst inputting 52w from the panel.

Hopefully it will get it first real outing at next weeks Castlewood 4x4 show, where I'll be camped for 3 nights
