trial and error as you go. i kept fitting it, then adjusting to suit until i was happy with it. if you can weld then you can make this. its just a lump of box steel. cut it and fold/weld to get bends in the box. use a sheet folder for the plate. im messy at welding, but i can grind fairly well ;-)

Thanks all, dont really have the space for producing them but, if i make a Mk II then this Mk I above might be going spare ;-). it will only fit a newer jimny with a jimnybits 2" bodylift, jimybits front tow points and bumper cut accordingly. mine has a 2" trailmaster lift as well, but that wouldnt matter as its all chassis/bumper related. ive drilled/tapped the tow points to mount it and it has a cut out in the back which fits over the original lower bumper mounts snugly.

ive done all the front end with buzzweld since so its all nice and black under the bonnet :-)

Not much has been done recently apart from it being abuse :-) oh and got some LED spots for the roof!

And SNOW!! :-D

I've also decided I need more ground clearance! What size tyres can I fit with just a 2inch lift? Or should I do a bigger lift?

215/75r15 will be ok as long as its standard rims/offset. further bumper lining needs to come out for 30mm spacers. Bigger sizes need gearing changes rather than lots of lift really.

im on with a rocklobster conversion at the moment so will have a set of 5 BFG ATs in above size on standard 5 spoke alloys for sale shortly. approx 6mm tread on 4 and spare is brand new (and a matching alloy). And to make it even better, im in north cumbria so near you (i think)....

Riccy.

mixed. first couple are with no lift/standard suspension.

progressed onto 2" suspension and 2" body. now going for 235/75r15, hence the gearing changes...

Ok so im getting sick of this just sitting on my drive and not getting used anymore! Could anyone tell me what kind of price I should advertise my jimny for? It would come with 3 sets if wheels and tyres, all the goodies left on, with waffle boards and other off road stuff! It does need a off side front caliper but for the right price I could sort that out and it has a dent in the near rear above the wheel as you can see on the pictures! Also has scratches from off roading! Here's a couple decent pics!
